A hilly and windy 10k (Read 183 times)

    Newmarket are Easter Seals/Persechini 10k.

Loop course, somehow into the wind all the way, gun timing on an honour system. Possibly the slowest 10k I have ever run, partly because I took the last month off from training. Official race time 51:56.

Odd thing was a 2 minute difference between my Garmin and the official digital race clock. (I used the Garmin time for my log.) Course also measured slightly long but that seems normal, so not concerned about that.

I am going to test the Garmin against a Timex in stopwatch mode and see if they are similar or different.

    PBs since age 60:  5k- 24:36, 10k - 47:17. Half Marathon- 1:42:41.

                                        10 miles (unofficial) 1:16:44.

tough day for running.... I just got back from a 10k and it was tough.... wouldn't want to be racing in that wind.

it is amazing... I ran in a loop as well and I was into the wind for a portion of every leg......

        Congrats.

I ran the women's 1/2 marathon today (my first!) and know what you mean about the wind.

First or last...it's the same finish line
