A true bargain. The economy must be tight. I'll start saving.

Shan, I would have gave you $150. Smile I'm in. It's going to be a wild stunt. Fargo - May 9th with be my last long run for this race. Gambling with your body keeps life interesting.

You should be ok ... I've done the Fargo - Duluth double in the past although Fargo was my goal race and Grandma's was for fun?!? I'll be skipping the fiasco that is Grandma's this year and only running Fargo.

That was my plan too but I'm letting my mentor make the big decesions this time. I don't know anybody's that ran the 2nd was faster than the 1st, but maybe there is some magic on what you do inbetween.

Some of it may how you prepare and your mental focus. For me I had tapered for Fargo and ran it as my 'A' race knowing full well that Duluth was a 'B' event. What happened to me was I had basically 7 weeks of limited training (3 week taper for Fargo and 4 weeks of sort of prepping for Duluth). In the end I ran Fargo in 3:44 and Duluth in 3:55 (although this was one of the 70+humid days). If Duluth is your goal and Fargo is your last long run, I assume you won't taper all that much for Fargo and focus your goal on Grandmas meaning you start tapering mid-May instead of mid-April. In the end, train hard and trust your plan and I'm sure you'll do fine. My $0.02 FWIW. pjs
Nice to see the forum live on! I'm in again, but my sister and brother are not running. My 1st marathon in 2007 was below expectations - finished 4:30 ish and the heat was a killer. This year, I'm starting late, so the goal is just to finish. Afterward, it is to stay in shape! Any site of flying monkeys?? http://www.runningahead.com/images/forum/emo_smile_big.gif

Well...I might as well add my name to the list. This will be my first full marathon. I did two halves last year and figured I could handle the full this year. We'll see about that come June. I read in the swamp that there is a group getting together at Fitgers after the race. Is this an open invite to anybody? I'd like to meet some of the people who have helped me get this far.

                            I am there.

"As a dreamer of dreams and a travelin' man I have chalked up many a mile. Read dozens of books about heroes and crooks, And I've learned much from both of their styles." ~ Jimmy Buffett

"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit. "No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."”

                              me too.

Probably have to sleep in my truck.  I searched around and saw a post saying you can camp along the course... is that true?
