Arthur Newton was arguably the greatest endurance runner of his time back in the earlier part of the 20th century. He owned the Comrades Marathon in his day. I was reading chapter 5 in an earlier edition The Lore Of Running by Dr. Tim Noakes last night and thought it related to LHRT. I found Law 13 particularly interesting how some great runners were forced to rest then subsequently ran their best races.
The link above is to a page that reprints chapter 5, but is probably a later edition than I what I have as there is much more.
Enjoy!
