When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
Your toughness is made up of equal parts persistence and experience. You don't so much outrun your opponents as outlast and outsmart them, and the toughest opponent of all is the one inside your head." - Joe Henderson
Great! I'm sure you'll find yourself feeling much better prepared for your 2nd one. Keep going after that, as time and $$ allow, and you'll have all the provinces(or is it states?) in no time! The training for Ms goes much faster when you don't have to back down to the lower mileages. Doing long run after long run has really kept me motivated big time, and I hope you enjoy it too! I can't recomend it enough! As for me, due to limited $$ for traveling, also, I'm attempting my 1st 50k trail run in a few weeks - the Tahoe Rim Trail 50k. I did a 22 mile training, all trail run this past weekend, and was pleasaantly surprised how quickly the time went by. What I really worry about for the Tahoe one is the major vertical climbs, and going up to some decent altitudes of 8,000 and 9,000 feet several times. See here: http://www.tahoemtnmilers.org/trt50/course_descr.html I also need to prepare my first Drop bag, and be prepared to be alone out there at night, in case i don't finish in the alloted 14 hours. Kinda scary.
hmmmm right now I'm trying to recover from a slight injury. When I get back to training, I'll be training for Lehigh river Marathon in Sep, Steamtown in Oct and Philly in Nov.
