Vista, thanks for the thoughts on Independence Day. I must say though that I disagree when the author talks about "allegiance to God" and ends the point with this being a threat to our freedom. Following the Lord (if Christian) and God leads one to God's Love and universal inclusion - totally opposite to lack of diviersity, contempt for others, etc. Bill

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
This may be an over simplification of what I have seen, but it appears that church going people are more passionate about freedom and the direction of the country.
