Masters June Miles (Read 476 times)

This has been my toughest month in while. I missed the 40-40 list twice while fighting an "off and on" virus for a few weeks. I still managed a respectable total but it involved much more of a struggle than I would have liked. June - 170 YTD - 1415
    Age 60 plus best times: 5k 19:00, 10k 38:35, 10m 1:05:30, HM 1:24:09, 30k 2:04:33
As usual, thanks wildchild! June total: 347.6 mi (a PR) YTD: 1682.4 mi A weekly mileage PR of 84.3 and half marathon PR of 1:28:16. Most importantly, no whammies last month!

Thanks for this Carolyn 126m for me.......... Roy
thanks for doing this, carolyn! despite june's graduation, wedding of a dear friend's daughter, and wedding of my own dear daughter (it was fantastic, the most beautiful, perfect wedding i've ever seen; of course, i haven't seen many...), i managed to put in 80.3 miles for june 374.9 for the year and broke 2400 lifetime (since may 2006). june miles were the most since last year, so i'm moving in the right direction. susan

Thanks Carolyn! wtg everybody. I had 49.3 running miles for the month. Making satisfactory progress on the hamstring injury though I still have to watch it. I could not run the last week of the month because of my foot & was still 4 miles over May, so that's about a 10% increase. Was hoping for better, of course, but I'm not unhappy with that. 14.12 miles walking. If we do our best, we do our best. Smile
Thank you for doing all this work Ms Carolyn. Heat and humidity took its toll on me, 146 for the month and 820 for the year. Lots of pool time doing laps, 1500 meters per week.

fjordrunner, I'm with you on this one! I too, got my DD married on the 28th. June was a month of getting her ready and sadly, neglecting my running. I worked on pumping iron to keep the arms looking good for the MOB dress but just didn't get the miles in. Soo, only 56.2 for me. for June. An all time low, I think. July is not looking much better but it's early yet. I need to get myself out of the wedding glow and into the reality of pounding the pavement. I need to get motivated!!!!!!

                        Carolyn

Sorry I'm so late posting the final results. I'm a slacker, what can I say? Sorry the table macro is being a bit finicky - I'll try to fix it later! OK so in keeping with this month's despair.com poster, there are a few winners: Awesome average: Mtnchk1 with 129.4 miles. June average was 131.7. Magnificent median: runnerclay with 117.3 miles, exactly the June median. (Note: runnerclay, are you new here? I don't remember you posting before. Welcome!) Highest mileage: dacook with 347.6. The rest of us are losers. Cool The stats for the year to date:

Interesting that the average was so high for March due to Boston. Here's the whole list. We collectively put in a lot of miles! Don't worry if your mileage was low in June - quite a few folks more than made up for you and you can repay the favor some other month!

Carolyn – I know, I am SO late to show up here, but I completely forgot. Can you pop me in with 184.9 miles? Thanks!

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
