are you doing pretty good yet?
I missed this year's annual midnight Firecracker 5000 on the 3rd/4th of July but didn't miss this weekend's 5K annual barefoot trail run up-and-down a local scenic trail.
It's pretty pebbly and took more than an hour in bare feet last year but nearly twenty minutes faster this year in the wooden geta sandals some occasional stubborn traditionalists <<<(me/me)>>> use on Mt. Fuji treks, and even in some marathons over there. I've done 26.2 trail miles over here in the straw waraji's that are popular among some runners over there too <<<(me/me)>>> but is the first time I've worn geta in an event over here.
ps - as the Light-at-the-end-of-the-Tunnel Marathon is a Marathon Maniacs BQ'ing creation of 24 miles of descent down to the valley floor atter a two mile run though the Snoqualmie Pass Burlington/Northern RR tunnel, the Mainiacs bulletin board usually adivises as registration cutoffs approach. Not this year though so my getting to join mariposai, divechief and francesca (at least at the start) are looking marginal, at best.
