The Hub comes home today for two nights. In the last two days, I've spoken to two of his friends about what's going on. Both made me cry in a good way. They're extremely supportive of his recovery, and both said it doesn't matter to them re the other issues we are dealing with. What matters is Shorty, he's their friend, they love him, and they'll do whatever they can to support him/us. I told him about the one friend, but am looking forward to telling him about the other today.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
