Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks Holly. Hope the leg and cold get better quickly.
Be safe. Be kind.
This week will be really interesting. I'm following the plan my Coach gave me for St. George but I didn't follow it too closely because I had to acclimate to high altitude but now I'm still home this week. I can feel how I'm pushing my body to the limit so hopefully I'm smart enough to know if I cross that line.

You dumped us at the Monkey for Tecumseh?
Always planned both but life had other priorities for me over Monkey weekend. Now I'm running for stress relief once again.

Hello. I'm a noob, both to this place and to the 40+ crowd (40, to be exact...I hope that counts). I'm fairly new to running, having started in February 2011. I run about 50 mpw now and have run three marathons, last one being 3:45. Anyway, I just figured I'd pop in and say hi.
This week's plan:
(actual-)
Sun: 4.5 - speed (7:32 pace)
Mon: 8.1 - easy (8:55 pace)
Tue: 10 - speed (8:38 pace)
Wed: 11 - LR pace (9:30 pace)
Thu: 7 - tempo (8:20 pace)
Fri: 8.1 - easy (9:09 pace)
Sat: 4 - easy shakeout (9:19 pace)
Normally I'd have another faster run in there, but I may run a 5K Sunday with PR aspirations, so I am trying to keep a little fuel in the tank.
Edit: Finally tally for the week was 52.67.

Welcome Phil. Good group. Holly tries to keep us on the 40+ narrows but she does allow for a slip every now and then.
The name is Baboon and the shirt in the profile photo has a monkey.
Have you met Trent yet?
Welcome.

Opie! OKC Running Club series race on Saturday. You need the points (and the race)(as do I).
Holly, I'm out of 40/40 until next year. Thanks for letting me participate.

Enjoy Tecumseh, I did it the last two years. I know several Buffalo from Central Illinois that are running it again this year but this was my step back year.

I'll think about it. I'll still be short a race and can't do the Nightlight Run because of Tucson.
