For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard... quarry

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks, Holly. Some of us have presumably hit 1000 miles for the year this month, right? I need about 39 miles this week to do it by the end of the month, so that's my goal.
ETA: 41.9 miles for the week. To celebrate, I ran through an honor guard of running buddies with arms (not swords) stretched above my head. Nice!.
Tough week both weather-wise and work-wise, so I'm just taking it day by day. No plan.
Mon--8.2 miles in a failed tempo attempt; just too hot and humid
Tues--10.1 miles very slow without the Garmin. Oppressive H&H.
Wed--5.2
Thurs--10.1 felt a little better today. Humidity was still there but temps weren't so bad and there was a breeze.
Fri--5.2
Sat--15 humidity caught up with me late. Ugh.
Total 53.8
Be safe. Be kind.
I'm in (and back after some R&R) even with a bum achilles. Easy running and no hills.

I'm here, too...sorry I'm late. Oh, thanks, Holly! Here's the schedule I did not follow, again.
Take care of that Achilles, Tramps.

I have hit 40 for the week. Will update if I get to run today. But its NHL Draft day so I dont know how long I will be in Columbus or if I get back in time for a run. Biggest day of the year! Let's Go Jackets!
Update - I went out for 3 miles, so total of 43.
Philippians 4:13.
Hmmm....do I have an injury I don't know about?
If we're being confused for each other, I think I may be getting the better of the deal.
And the achilles is settling down. Its odd how you can run on an achilles and hammy and let it heal if you stay away from hard workouts or faster running.
Dang! I meant C-R. But, still...if you don't take care of it, Tramps, you could injure it...
nice weeks everyone!
Mon 10 mi (1:20) treadmill
Tue 10.2 mi (1:22)
Wed 8 mi (1:07) treadmill
Thu 11 mi (1:26) treadmill
Fri 7.8 mi (1:05)
Sat 11.7 mi (1:44)
Sun 14.1 mi (1:55)
Total: 72 miles (9 hrs 58 min)
this week treadmill was just an escape from heavy rains with lightning,
but maybe I should be doing more treadmill running anyway.
it feels so much gentler on the body
