Alexander - Is DW looking forward to more races, or has she had her fill for now?  Thanks for the kind words on my ParkRun in the last thread.

I had a rather eventful week, running a 5k race on Wednesday evening and a 5k ParkRun on Saturday.  Both went well for me, getting a new course best on Wednesday (4th time running the race) with 24:42 (any sub-25 is good).  Funny thing is even though I was 16 seconds faster than last year, the field was better as I went from 49th last year to 67th this year.  The winner ran 15 minutes flat.  The ParkRun was less dramatic with me spending 2 miles following a runner who passed me ½ mile in and then passing her when she started wilting in the heat and thus placing 8th of 67.  35.2 miles for the week.

nice work on your park run Fred! My sub 25 5K days are way past me at this point!

Last week was weak for running

          Tues: 5 miles

          Wed: 5.3 miles

          Fri: 4.2 miles

          TOTAL 14.5.

We were out of town from Friday through Sunday and I knew I wouldn't get in a run while we were away.

Nothing special planned for this week but hoping to get in a longer, maybe couple hours, on the trails either Friday or Saturday.  Aiming for 25-30 miles this week.

            Nice 5K racing Fred.

I only had a some sore stiff legs on Monday. The rest of the week, I felt great. Except for Thursday's run up/down Mt Scott, it was all very easy paced running.

            Here's what I had.

            M - travel/rest day

            T - 5.3 mile (10:12/mile)

            W - 6.1 miles (10:16/mile)

            Th - 6 miles (10:13/mile)

            F - 8 miles (10:18/mile)

            Sa - 13.2 miles (10:10/mile)

            Su - rest day

            ______________________

            Total - 38.6 miles

I'm going to add some intervals in this week along with a mountain run and maybe a short tempo run on Saturday.

Fred, yes, somehow my wife got very interested in running, after all these years, she is now training to run more local 5k's. The goal is to break 30 min, I think. Her most recent 5k was like 30:43, so already quite close. And that included stopping and taking 4 or 5 photos of me running (it was an out and back course). Congratulations on the course best, Fred and on running two 5k's in one week! This shows that you are in great shape. And on top of that you still logged plenty of miles. Quick recovery is another sign of fitness.

Hi Tammy, great to see that you got 3 runs in! This way, even with travel and all, you are definitely maintaining your fitness

Paul, that is a crazy fast recovery. How's that even possible to do the runs that you did, just two days after a major marathon. And look at the paces too. Arguably, this is even more impressive than the marathon itself. You are in a fantastic shape
