How can you tell the bpm of a song? Is there something on Itunes maybe that you can just click? Thanks!

Try going to
http://jogtunes.com/
and checking out some of their playlists. That's how I learned what BPM's work for me. I like 140 - 150 for my long runs; 150 - 160 for my faster runs, and 170 for my sprint intervals. DJ Steve Boyett who posts on RA regularly also produces a BPM regulated FREE techno podcast that puts you in a running trance pretty darn smoothly! You can find his HERE:

After a while with buds in your ears, you just get a feeling if a song is RIGHT for your run. Hope this helps.

Thanks Sally! Those are two great sources for running music! I'm getting to know what songs I have "work" and what ones don't, but no idea what the bpm are. I thought if I could figure that out, I'd search for other songs that had the same. I've downloaded quite a few tunes thinking they'd be great, and get out there and find they just weren't "right"! No big deal, but it'll be interesting to search by the bpm.

Might not be for everyone, but lately I've loved running to "Dropping Daylight", very upbeat and motivating. In other lists I've mentioned "We Are Scientists" and "Waking Ashland" too as good running bands. -Kirt
