Hi, folks!
I'm so glad I found this group!
I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and my physician is encouraging me to go on a low dose of Synthroid. I would prefer a more holistic alternative, since I've not taken ANY kind of medication in over 5 years. I visited a dietician today in hopes that I could make some dietary changes, but unfortunately, she had no recommendation for me.
I'm about 6 weeks away from running my second marathon, and I'm nervous about going on a hormone at this point in my training. Do any of you have suggestions or ideas or wisdom to share?
Thanks so much!
Welcome Cherubino - going on the thyroid hormone won't affect your training, except for the better. Don't be nervous.
Use your momentum...keep going. You know you can make it.
