QOTD: probably a tie between Antarctica and California Int’l Marathon (2013 edition, aka The Cold Year). Both were upper 20s at the start. People were expecting it in Antarctica, not so much in Sacramento.

Another late run, 5.5 miles, to avoid the heat. Now if there were just some way to avoid the humidity without moving to Arizona...
qotd: Lots of cold races during the 5 years I lived in CT, but I think the most miserable, yet fun, race was the Brian's Run 10K in West Chester one year. It was sleeting and a freezing rain the entire race. When I finished, with my Gortex warm up suit still on, I had a thin coating of ice all over me and a mtwardian style icicle filled beard.
