That puddle seems pretty big and deep. Once I ran through a deep (almost knee-deep) mudhole, but that one was not even 1/10th the length of "your" puddle, just a few steps. Was enough to almost get me stuck, though.
Funny about the raid on the aid station, and the parents' reactions. I have heard several times from people who are not involved in running that runners get "free food", and that it is unfair that spectators are not allowed to touch it - I wonder what happens with the registration fees of a race...
