Adventures in Thursdaily (Read 18 times)

Today's adventure is having a plumber replace a utilitysink with almost 90 year old pipes. Which then opens the question of replacing all the water lines and the main... ugh.  Got out yesterday afternoon for 4.5 miles along the paved trail. Still feeling sluggish. Can I blame it on being borderline anemic?  A little concerned about next week and trying to run at 7,000 feet elevation. I have been scouting trails, which has been fun.

qotd: What's your next big (or small) adventure? Ours is heading to northern Arizona next week. MiL and BiL are joining us from MN. We get to see older DS. Weather forecast is not looking bad, either.

    running under the BigSky

got a good 4 miles in with Tiny E yesterday- probably close to 1500' of gain; Tiny Elvis found this someone had propped up on a rock- he was pretty excited about at first, smelled it carefully and then wanted nothing to do with it!   evidently a relative

headed out with Tiny E shortly for a snowshoe loop in the Elkhorn Mtns

qotd: big- Bob Marshall Open and the end of May; small- plan on several long forays (probably most on snowshoes) in the mountains between now and then to get whipped into shape for the the big one Smile

      Trails

Headache this morning so I once again did not get up and go to the hotel gym. I am so ready to go home. Going to be crappy weather this weekend but hopefully next weekend will be good for some long road miles.

qotd: 56k at Possum's Revenge end of May and then the 24 hour Lhotse end of Aug.  I've not planned anything for after that.  We'll see if I feel like a fall ultra or not.

        LB2

No run yet today, but I will run after work for a few miles.

QOTD: Nothing really on the horizon right now. I am thinking about a canoe trip down the river after turkey season is over in early May. But I am thinking about running a fairly long race later in the year or very early next year.

SRD...beginners Yoga at lunch. I too woke up with a headache.

Warden:  What the hell is that?  Looks like a dog?

Runtrail:  When the DH plumbed he would always show homeowners the inside of their pipes to get them to do a re-pipe.  It's not easy connecting to such old pipes.

            LB2:  Hmmm thinking long again.

QOTD:  Meeting up with AT and his wife in June for a run in the Oregon Mountains WyWest Wonder 50 miler.

Tried to run but LB was sending pain down left leg (i get that from time to time) so came home and walked on TM. No pain walking briskly, so that's good. Back feels better than yesterday, so hopefully good by Saturday.  Cut back week, so good timing.

Warden - TE was smart to leave that alone.

DC - Love old houses. but you're right once you start chasing problems get out the checkbook.

dhuff - audit yesterday and a HA. Not a great trip for you.

LB - any ideas what race?

Queen - how many beginners Yoga classes do you have to do to not be a beginner anymore?  Hope your HA goes away. It's about 6' tall with long hair and works on cars, right.

QOTD:  Jess and I are supposed to meet Sue for the Wy'East wonder, but apparently she's now going to Wy'West Wonder.   Next adventure is a golf trip to Kiawah SC at end of month. Hopefully I can make some money to pay for Oregon trip.

              “Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!

I am not very limber so maybe a year or so    your funny..no not him but beer.   The name confuses me since it is in the West but I guess it must be east in Oregon..or we run to the east

                  I’ll run after work today.

runtrail - old houses are like old boats, start picking at stuff (pipes, wires, structures, etc.) and you never know where it will lead.

qotd: similar to runtrail I’m going to play with home improvements. I have some fluorescent light fixtures to replace tomorrow. Sometimes they don’t come on, I have replaced the wall switches (3 of them on that circuit) already, tomorrow will replace the fixtures after that it’s calling in someone.  It’s not the bulbs or the ballasts unless two parallel fixtures are going out at the exact same time.

But much more fun than that, I’m going to run up a volcano on Monday.

                  tbd.

if I had to guess (only a guess) a owner had a dog that he wanted to put down for some reason, walked him up the draw and shot him- definitely a year or more old
