Christmas + Running (Read 298 times)

Tough run last night, most parts of Bushy Park were just ice, eventually went arse over tit and luckily landed on my new running bumbag (thanks Santa) which softened the landing. Quick check to make sure ok and finished my run, 22miles felt like 30miles in the legs by the end. When i got home and opened the bumbag i realised one of my energy powder sachets had exploded and covered the inside in fruit of the forest powder (nice).

Very difficult this last week to get all the runs in with everywhere round here so icy, and the small matter of Chiristmas.

Should get back on track this week.

Hope you are all having a great Christmas.

Hi David, thanks for your lovely text, I didn't get it until quite late as my phone has been off for most of the time.

My mileage has dropped dramatically this month basically due to the dreaded weather and really wanted to push on through but it was impossible. You are quite right, running 22 miles can feel like 30 miles as the calorie burn just trying to keep upright in places but hey, what fantastic strength and core work.

Thankfully you didn't hurt yourself, I have had trips and stumbles but this morning I nearly shit myself when I did a light trip but then step on black ice and it took all my whits to keep upright, even if it was to stop myself pissing myself with laughter when George did exactly the same thing.

I have a concern at the moment as I have a bit of a problem with my buttock, IT Band and quad which are not getting better what with all this skittering and skating.

Good news is that it looks like it will start to melt and we can get the the proper training in.
