Saturday's run...Ugh! (Read 314 times)

Joe--when I was first diagnosed (with high cholesterol and sugar) I asked about coffee and my dr said that some studies have suggested a connection but all conclusions were premature. He thought it would have more effect on my cholesterol than my sugar. As it turned out, after getting both conditions stablized and after going without caffeine for a few weeks, neither was affected. Keep in mind though, everyone reacts differently which may account for the so-called scientific test results being inconclusive and my doctor not taking a solid position on the matter. Other studies with more conclusive results have shown that a moderate amount of caffeine in the morning helps jump-start the metabolism and does actually make us more alert. So in my case, the coffee stays. I do miss my morning doughnut though! John
