Are we there, yet?
Last winter I wondered if the warm weather would ever get here. I wonder now how may of us wish it weren't quite so warm. It was 90F when I went out to run yesterday.
Mr Pink - glad you are enjoying your runs.

2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
Yeah. It was nearly 80 and super high humidity when I went out this morning. I forgot how much the heat really slows you down.
Of course we did get to enjoy our pool today as the water is already 80 degrees. Not bad for June 1st in upstate NY.
awesomesauce has been assigned to Corredores as our newest team member. She posts on RW.
I've just made motel reservations and am mailing in my entry for the Self-Transcendence Marathon in Nyack, NY on Friday, Aug 23. That should be my final tune-up for NC 24 and I'll run it as another supported training run.
And add one more race to my NC 24 prep training, The Endless Summer 6-Hour Run on July 27th. My race schedule now looks like this:
July 4 Good Neighbor Day 15K Downingtown, PA (local)
July 27 Endless Summer 6-Hour Run Annapolis, MD (supported training run)
Aug 23 Self-Transcendence Marathon Nyack, NY (supported training run)
Sep 21 North Coast 24 12-Hour Run Cleveland, OH (goal race)
Some mind-boggling numbers in this weeks Miles Game results. Greg ran 105 miles and was only 2nd individually. First ran 120 miles. We finished 4th as a team and strengthened our hold on 4th place cumulative for the quarter. It took over 82 miles to make it into the top 10 for the week.
Work is still keeping my legs tired. Not used to being on my feet that much and it's also been stressful because I feel more responsible for what happens in the department even though that responsibility is not part of my job not being a lead or asst mgr. Seems like every 3-4 weeks I have a really terrible workout then need extra rest days to recover. Ian's good about making adjustments, but I think I'm still struggling just with the distance of the long runs. Despite working with him for almost 3 months, I think we're still in the experimental stage learning how much I can handle and still recover well.
Looks like we lost DoctorK4 and fignewton820 for non-posting. No replacements announced yet.
And DoctorK4 has been reinstated.
One more race in the log. GND 15K RR
