way to go everyone!

Crazy trail race done last Saturday. 13.47 miles in 2:29:38. 14/80.
The hills were steep and had loose rocks and gravel. It was ten miles of running and three miles of hiking. Since I never do hill work or run on trails, I am very pleased with the results. I was ahead of several people who do a bunch of trail races.
Personal Bests:
800M - 2:38 (5/28/13) | 1 Mile -5:54 (5/28/13) | 3K - 11:55 (12/29/12) | 2M - 13:00 (12/1/12) | 5K - 20:00 (4/12/13) | 13.1M - 1:37:24 (2/3/13)

Trail races with loose rocks and stuff like that can really slow you down. And they can be a great workout!
If I could make a wish I think I'd pass
That race was about surviving. My goal was to finish it without getting injured. 3 miles worth of unrunnable hills. My legs were sore Sunday - Wednesday. Today is the first day my body feels decent. After going up and down all those hills both my calves cramped up when I tried to run. It took four attempts to run before the calves finally stopped cramping so I could run the final 2.6 miles to the finish line.
Hi 4midables! We still need posts for this week from EatsFood, ktsmitty21, and runningviolamom.
Hi 4midables! I ran my Fall half marathon the other day. 1:53:39.7. That is a masters personal best by exactly ten seconds per mile (2 minutes + 10 seconds faster than my previous). I was very happy with that, as gains tend to be hard-fought. I have a 10-miler coming up on November 3rd. Not sure I will be fully recovered from the half by then. After 11/3 I will be cutting back on miles some. Not sure exactly how much.
Don't forget to post your miles!
Bob, congrats on the Masters' PB!
What are the rules for injured reserve? I am injured right now and will get no miles this week. I have no idea when I will be able to run again because my calf just doesn't want to heal. It has been hurting for almost two weeks now. My last run was October 17th.
1) Thanks Zelanie!
2) Dan - I will go ahead and put you on the Injured Reserve list. You will need to let me know when you're ready to come off of the I.R. list. Just post here when you are better. Rest up for as long as you need.
Bob congrats on the PB! Way to go!
They finally figured out what was wrong with my calf, deep vein thrombosis aka a blood clot. This should have been diagnosed in July when I did my first sonogram. Yesterday, they tested again for a blood clot. I almost cancelled the test since a blood clot had already been ruled out back in July. Now, I am on blood thinners until it goes away.
That is good news, Dan. I'm sure it has been a very frustrating (and frightening) experience.
Welcome back andee1296! Hope the time on the IR list gave you a chance to get better.
