    Are you going to run Ghost Train?  I ran that last year as my first 100 miler.  Great race!

    Although if it is Ghost Train, they have switched it to the first weekend in November 2014.

    I, too, am doing my first REAL ultra, a 50 miler in late May.  I have done a few 50K's and a 37.5 but I figurd the real ultra running doesn't start till 50m, I also have a 100m planned for Oct or at least as far as I can get in my first 100m.

      I am hoping too. Been out a few months on a bum knee that is starting to recover. If I can get back into good mileage in the spring I would like to if my work schedule allows. I was signed up for 2013 but had to be out at work for it. Had 3 friends run it though and hoping some will return in 2014. Also looking at a few others like Vermont maybe.

      "Anyone can do it in ideal conditions"- A quote from a true NE CN runner and friend.

        Hello All,

        I am new to this Group and wanted to take a minute to introduce myself.

        I started running in 2008 as a way to be a better role model for my newly born son.  After that, I started to LOVE getting out and going on my runs!  I NEVER thought that would happen...

        I did 2 years of decent running, but my goal was always shorter races (5K, 10K, HM).  Now, after a few years off (due to being at sea a lot (Navy)) I am once again training.  I have a Marathon at the end of November, so that has been what I have been training for.  The marathon has always been a lifelong goal, but now that I'm getting out and doing my long runs, I realize that I can go a lot further.

        I read 'Born to Run' recently which really motivated me to go into the Ultra distances.

        I have my first Ultra (50 Mile Mt. Si in WA) scheduled for late April, and can't wait!

        ~Mike

        Personal Records:

        5K=20:45

        HM=1:58

        FM= in November

        Training for 50M Ultra in April.
