Run to live; live to run

What a strange week with Christmas being in the middle. But, we found Friday

happy  running everyone. I'm going to run now. Dh got called in for a fire investigation at 1 am so I really didn't feel like getting up early to run.

Gym yesterday 35 minutes running. Gym today. And errands. Glad you found Friday!

Arimathea, what happened to that "other forum"?

        Happy runs, All! :::HUGS:::

        Where is the "any" key?

First of all, Tessa I want one of those Bailey's cream puffs!  YUM!

Sorry for the non-posting.  Still not running or anything else for that matter.  I know I will get back at it, but just haven't motivated myself enough yet.  I think I need to sign up for a Half somewhere in the early spring, maybe that will spur me on, don't know.  I wake up in the morning so stiff and creaky...everything hurts, LOL!  Just noticing this lately, age? The effects of not exercising?  Just don't know.  I need to be up a couple of hours now to feel like doing anything.  Hope I snap out of it soon.

Had a wonderful holiday and I hope everyone here did too.  I haven't even been reading much here either.

            Good Morning!

Just back from a 4.2 miler outside.  I ran 3 on Xmas morning and 4.1 yesterday (same route yesterday and today so not sure why distance is different lol).  I got the newer Yak Trax and love them!  I am off of work until next Thursday so enjoying the opportunity for running in the day light!

            Hi Marjorie and JudY

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday

Well, hello Friday! And hello, all of you!

I'm working from home again today. Will probably knock off early and get a run in as it's supposed to get into the upper 40s today. And another day of brilliant blue skies. If all of winter were like this, I'd be a happy happy girl.

I've been spending a lot of time online lately trying to figure out where to stay for Boston. I just can't see paying $600 a night for the hotels right downtown. I have a reservation for a Hampton Inn way out of town, but that will be tough for DH for riding his bike if we have to take the train everywhere. So I've been on VRBO and airbnb. Lots of non-replies, a few "oh, it's already booked" when it wasn't hours earlier when I sent the message, a couple "I don't rent to people without a history", some "I don't book this far in advance", I was getting frustrated. But I got several replies to the last bunch I sent out and picked a really nice looking place with good reviews in Brookline for only $146/night. Plus it has a pull-out couch as well if my parents decide to come. And a parking space for the car. Only 2 miles from everything and right on the green line. What a relief to have that taken care of.

Morning!  Trixie's biopsy results came back with no cancer, yay!  As I knew from the get go, fatty liver disease, something workable with food and love.  Now Daisy looks to be suffering from something similar so I'm going to force feed these two.  9 miles with 600m intervals tonight.

                Marjorie, enjoy your run!

judy, nice workout.  What other forum?  The one we don't speak of? :-)

Ginny, hope you find your motivation to run soon.

Run to live; live to run

8.2. Woot! I could have easily done over 10. I'm happy it is back to normal. Well, almost, but the paces will come back eventually.

Karen how frustrating. When I booked OBX getting a house was hard. They didn't want to do more than 4 weeks in advance and then were difficult to deal with since we weren't going to be there a calendar week. A week, but not staring on a Sunday. It made me nervous as I know the hotels were already full. I loved the place we got, though.

Ginny. You'll get back at it. You always do.  I made those cherry cheese cake cookies you posted on FB. They were a big hit. Next year I think I will mix it up and do some other fruits on them. I Aldo thought drizzling chocolate over the cherry ones would be good

hi Laura. How many squats are you up to now?

                    So happy Friday was found!

Marjoire - glad to see you were able to get 8 miles in without pain!  That is great!

Judy - Sounds like good work out for you.  Car troubles again???

LCruns - How nice that you get some time off work and can get some runs in the daylight!!!

Ginny - Hope you get your running mojo back!  I think you had a very busy Christmas season, with your house on display, and all the other Christmas demands so maybe you just needed a little break from it.  I always do better with something on the horizon to train for.

Karen - That is great that you found somewhere to rent clost to the race!

Damarias - Glad the biopsy was good.  I think I missed whether your surgery was scheduled or not  :/

Day off today....whew, I felt like I needed it.  I have been continuing on my running streak, but have really been having some hamstring/hip pain...had to get up in the night and take Motrin.  I will see how it is feeling later.  Have run scheduled with RB's tomorrow.

                    Carol

                    Tessa

Ginny, you are welcome to the Bailey's puff, but only if you have a designated driver or are spending the night. Those things are lethal!

Judy, I don't know what is up with runango. I texted elmie to wish her happy Christmas and she didn't know either. I'm wondering if it is financial but can't get on to donate! I think I might have mut's email so will check with him if it stays down.

Marjorie, yay for an 8 miler without pain.

Damaris, glad the news is good ie not cancer. How does a cat get fatty liver? I have a Fatty McFatterson cat, Fernanda is a marshmallow with paws on it, but I don't think it's her liver, it's all of her.

Karen, good that you have found a place to stay. I think hotels are going to be VERY expensive. RN is a little upset because her MIL and SFIL were talking about going to Boston to watch her, she wants to spend time with her Massachusetts cousins not local family, maybe they will price the expedition and say no way.

Hi Carol, Laura, all to follow.

9.5 this morning, then dentist (periodontal surgery), now working from home with 3 ibuprofen in me and an icepack on. They recommended no exercise for 48 hours. Like THAT is going to happen...

                      Former Bad Ass

Fatty liver disease occurs when a cat (usually fat) stops eating or does not eat enough so that the liver starts accumulating fat instead of processing the food.  Since Daisy is eating less and less as well, we think they both hate the food we switched to 3 months ago.  Both have lost 5lbs each.  Trixie got jaundiced and lethargic so I assume she has been having issues longer.  Cure is to make sure the liver starts working.  Lots of food.

Carol, pending confirmation from the surgeon, surgery will be on 02/14.  I am a little pissed my OB-GYN didn't think it was endometriosis in addition to the fibroids because the specialist is sure the pain is not the fibroids.  Sigh.

Damarias - Do you have a history of endometriosis?  Seriously, I have seen women with huge uterine fibroids...20 cm (so big you could palpate them thru the abdomen - I know TMI - but this is my territory - LOL) and some don't have alot of pain with them.  But endometriosis implants...that is another story, lots of pain.  Have they discussed if they are going to remove ovaries or not with you?

Tessa - Wow the Bailey's creampuff's sound  awesome....actually I would skip the creampuff and go right to the Bailey's Smile

                          Still procastinating on my run......

I took down all the Christmas decorations. All the inside ones are put away. I need to make new bows for the wreaths and bells so they are in the garage but not in their containers yet. I have ordered new outside lights so the old ones are rolled but not put up either as they will go to the recycle guy that recycles all the old lights in our neighborhood.

Just thinking about taking down all these Christmas decorations makes me tired.  Not ready to do it yet, but the tree may go this weekend, it has been up since Thanksgiving because of the tour.

He is hoping not to.  So, unless the endometriosis is too aggressive, only the uterus and fallopian tubes.  If he has to remove the ovaries, I'm going to be pissed at my OBGYN because we could've caught this in time.

And yes, my mom had a full hysterectomy at age 28 (I'm an only child) due to the same.
