Finally Fridailies!!! (Read 12 times)

YAY!!!  3 really steamy miles w Scamp this morning.  It was 75F with a heat index of 84, but it was SO steamy!!!!

So glad today is Friday.  Yesterday I was just so tired all day. I took a Claritin, which is supposed to be non-drowsy, but I was in a fog all day. Decided I'd rather sneeze and cough instead of feeling hung over today. So far, better.

Good luck racers!! I hope the AQI holds for you!

Crazy storms here again last night. Two nights in a row. Lots of trees down on my block. My Charlie Brown tree survived (hubby hates that tree but I actually find it charming despite it looking pretty pathetic lol) but some beautiful neighbour trees lost the battle. Thankfully we didn't flood but if you look up photo footage of Harrow Ontario nearby you can see that they weren't lucky.

Morning! Day 6 of triple digits and 80s dewpoints. WTF. This is not our normal summer weather. Take it back!

Weather said cloudy today so I planned on running my long run (14 miles). I went out nice and easy, all felt good. Well, the sun came out around mile 8 and the wheels fell off. I took some walk breaks, slowed down even more, even stopped a couple times to catch my breath, and quit at 9.7 miles. Then I walked the dogs, drank a bunch of gatorade, and noticed the clouds over the mountains seemed to be coming this way. So I went back out for another 4.3. Not the best way to do a long run, but it's the best I could do today.

Lori, glad you survived the storms!

Margaret and Kathryn, have a great weekend! Margaret, how many 100s have you done now? Will this be 3? 4? More?

Did a couple easy miles then met Kat for a cup of coffee this morning in lovely downtown Bend.  Weather/smoke conditions are still good, hoping it stays that way all weekend since I'll be out there for most of it.  Aiming for 30, cutoff is 32.  Race tracking is on Ultralive.net, I'm no. 34.

CrazySue, ick on steamy conditions and allergy med hangover.

Lori, scary about the storm bringing trees down.

Damaris, yuck, those conditions sound miserable.

Karen, nice job getting the miles done.  This will be 100 no. 3.

5 with strides this morning. According to radar, it was going to rain on my run. It did not. Called Subaru Corporate AGAIN oday. First call last week, said a specialist would call me in 48 hours. They didn't. I call back (gave them an extra few hours), get told specialist will call me that day or next. Still no call. Called today, specialist is still not available. The service advisor did call me and thinks they have found the issue (4th times the charm), but by time in shop, it's getting really close to lemon law thresholds. I'm really not feeling the love.

CrazySue, I get that feeling from Zyrtec. Even if I take ti at night, I feel hungover the entirie next day. Like you, I just prefer to sniffle.

BerthaSlayer, I saw that there were pretty strong storms in Michigan yesterday. Glad you didn;t get major damage or flooding.

Docket, definitely seems like a long string of 100 degree days.

AnonymousGuest, oncce the sun comes out in full force, there just isn't much you can do when you get too hot. I'm not sure there is much training benefit to my usual summer long run, which is about an hour of running followed by some length of time that is more walking & cursing than running.

                GatsbyBird, good luck!
