Really was able to roll on the downhill section. Decent race. Started with sore glute muscles so not bad.

Seems like I've had a problem all summer with slow starts. At SC my mile splits (yeah, who looks at mile splits in a XC race?! Me, that's who!) were 7:12, 6:39, 6:11 and 5:41. This has been my problem all summer - hard to get rolling in spite of doing a decent warmup. I'm starting to wonder if I'm experiencing some over-training symptoms or it could be that I'm more geared towards longer distance right now. I'll withhold final judgement on that till I run Buffalo Stampede 10miler on Sept 11th.
