Notes
Very good race. Started off too fast (trying to maintain 6min/mile pace), missed the first two mile markers as they hadn't been put up yet. Really slowed the middle of the race when we got to the rolly polly part of the course. Nothing too bad but the turns and slight ups/downs kept coming. South of the freeway on the bike paths was tough running. The 57 year old that finished ahead of me was in my sights the last three miles but even though I picked it up the last mile he still put some time on me. I did reel in the 39year old that finished behind me (at around mile 5). Good race, I think it would have been close to a PR on a Marin-type course.
The 5K'rs merged with us just after 5miles and it was a good thing because I think they were the ~20minute runners. I finally had someone to run with and try to pick off.
