Set out this morning to do my Big run but just didn't feel like doing it. I turned around before I got to the end of the block and came back home, feeling depressed that I didn't and wasn't going to get in my big, long run. When I got back to the door Kathy was just coming out and was going to walk down to Trader Joe's so I decided to walk with her. We ended up going to a few stores and walking 4 1/2 miles. When we got back from the walk I was re-energized and decided to drive over to West Valley and do downhill mile repeats.

Parked at Douglas and jogged up to Hwy 9. Turned around and ran down Fruitvale until I ran a mile (which turned out to be a little past Douglas. Hit the lap button and jogged back up to Hwy 9. Did this 6 times! Big, big workout. I tried to just run relaxed downhill and try not to break or lean back. Started to figure it out after the 3rd mile. To be honest, the hardest part of this workout was NOT the faster downhill intervals but the dang uphill jog back to hwy 9. I could feel my legs on this part a lot more than on the downhill.

After 6 of these I jogged over to the track and tried to run one 1600 repeat to see what flat and fast felt like after 6 faster downhill miles. It felt fine, but I don't know about another 20 MP miles after those 6 DH miles. If all that didn't put my legs down for the count I cooled down by jogging back up to hwy 9 and back down again. Legs, RIP.
