Trail was fine until about 7 miles from Williamsport, our destination. Met a couple coming west who reported bad conditions - heavy mud and downed trees. Left the trail and took very hilly roads into Williamsport. Stayed at Red Roof Inn, about a mile from trail. Got two rooms since it was cheap and only double beds, plus had to keep bikes in rooms. No bike facilities.
Dinner at nearby Italian restaurant, huge portions of spaghetti and meatballs. Took leftovers for lunch next day but ended up throwing away. Big breakfast at Waffle House next door.
