Notes

My first Pre-Marathon run with My Frankie here in Boston. A 4 miler was just fine for both of us in a route that Franc often runs. On the route one can have a beautiful view of Down Town Boston (Beautiful). It almost feels I am back home again. It was a good feeling running on Boston grounds and the perfect day weather-wise. Pretty cool to start with that one would not believe how hot it felt after 1st mile. Temperature at this time of the year is so deceptive indeed. Let's hope that for the Marathon will be a cooler day.

I cautiously attempted this run after a very difficult journey/flight which in turn added to further inflammation of the foot due to the extra pressure . Right foot got swollen near the end of the flight and gave me a lot of pain during and after a total journey of just about 20 hours alltogether. I never ..ever realized in my life before how bad inflammation can really be. I had to ice the foot and after taking care of it I felt like it was heaven on earth. Extreme Relief.

For first two miles the foot was prominently hurting almost with a sense of grazing pain. I did not want at that point thinking that 6 days later I would be doing a marathon. I tried again to divert the mind elsewhere and focus on the run of the day and the moment. It worked as the foot eased down and I did the last two miles a lot faster and more comfortably. The amazing thing is that foot allows me to run but the Q in me is whether it will allow me to do 4 mile X 6 of what I did today?????? Time will tell as it is not long now to the Big Day!!!!

Franc and I shared an easy run for him (after his yesterday's tough workout) and a moderate one for me following Coach's instructions again for picking up the pace. It was all good and hopefully by the end of the week I will be able to have a significant recovery in terms of inflammation after taking time to rest. Today I felt the body heavy and tired but I managed to get some descent sleep during the night.

Tomorrow I will be running up Newton Hills so to test the grounds for the Big Challenge. This will give me the opportunity to test the grounds and plan on how to approach and tackle them on the Day. I am sooooooooooooooo excited to run over those Hills that brought glory to SK and broke the heart of JK. The Hills of the Historical (mostly desired to run by most Elite and All Athletes) The Boston Marathon Course. I feel so lucky that I made it to Boston. Thank You God now and forever.
