Whew. Pouring rain. Darkish and cool. Leg #1 started at the base of a hill and ran upwards for .50 mile before hitting the fire road. Mostly soft surface with some sandy spots. Broke out into the hilly dirt roads about 20 min into run. Nice field crossing before joining the main road to the next exchange. Team barely made it there. Exchange was complete chaos b/c of the rain and narrow passage way. Mud City.
