Notes

PR at Broad Street. The temperature was fine and the rain, which didn't really fall during my race, was not an issue. Thanks to the corral start, which was implemented this year, I was able to get out to a good start. My first mile was 6:40. I was a little concerned that this early pace would derail my hopes for a strong run. Some doubt crept in after the first few miles. However, I was able to hold around that pace. In fact, I only had two miles outside the 6:40s. Mile seven, which I thought I had run well was 6:51 and my last mile was 6:31. I was very happy to have enough in the tank for a strong final mile. I didn't really kick as much as I just continuously upped the effort over the past mile. All in all, a strong race. I'm pleased and hope this is a sign that I'm on track for a strong winter marathon.
