Notes

Felt pretty good on this run. Went into the woods at about mile 2 (at Sheepsfold) and ran back on the wide trail. I was trying to go a little faster today and see how my knee took it. Good news is it did pretty well. Bad news is I felt like I was going much faster. I'm going to need to do some speed work to get back. But for now, I'm feeling pretty positive. Ruby is keeping me honest, so unless I get injured again I may actually be doing some serious training.

It was raining slightly when I started with thunderstorms coming in maybe half a mile later. I was running on 28, so go a good view of a bunch of lightning. There was a runner in front of me that I almost caught, but also that kind of made me feel safer (if he's running....). At the dog park there were two dogs going back to their cars. It made me kind of jealous, because Waffle does not handle thunder well and I knew he was hiding and shaking somewhere at home. It's pretty sad. The wide trail on the far side of the dog park takes me right back to the nearest trail head, while also avoiding bear hill. I probably will run on that a lot.
