I love the Cabot Trail Relay! Another great year. Our team finished 20th out of 70. Not bad for a Masters Team. We had a special celebration with our veteran runner Phil, who completed leg 17, the last one he hadn't yet run. See a story about it in the local paper via this link:

My first leg wasn't bad. I never seem to run as fast as I would like in Cape Breton, but the legs are never easy - not even the easy ones. This leg had a ranking of 3.5 out of 5 for toughness. It had some longer hills with gradual slopes, but nothing major. I just seemed to run out of energy the last three k... perhaps I needed a gel or should have had more breakfast. I already am looking forward again to next year!
