Felt more rested than in other events because I took a Melatonin the night before. Something I learned: EAT more before the race. I only had a bowl of cereal with low fat milk, 1 whole grain muffin, and two slices of whole grain bread. When the race started, I was starving, so I had a Clif Shot blok gel. But my hunger distracted me for about the first two miles.
I ran in the 40 and over group. The 60 and 70-yr olds finished about 10-15 minutes faster than me.
