Notes

First run (-walk) back! I decided to start a few days earlier, today marking the 3rd week since I stopped running and at the tail end of the 1-2 weeks the doctor recommended. I did a lot of research and put a ramp up plan together. Trying to make it as fast as possible while still being safe. And I also learned the principles for knowing when to go forward or back - basically I can't have any pain.

Today's run was really nice. The great weather and sun certainly helped. It was lovely. Running felt mostly normal but I could tell my calves were really not used to this loading. They'll need as much ramp-up time as anything it seems. But in this way it's also good that I'm running, in that they need to be introduced to the running stimulus in order to get back to normal, lifting aside.

I also made my plan so that I would be supplementing cycling in all the non-running time. Such that I'm doing an hour a day most days and 7-8 hours per week of total activity. I'll be curious to see what my cycling fitness ends up being come Crank the Kanc and the summer duathlons. And of course I want the cycling to give me fitness gains to translate to running.
