Notes
This was the first time I was trying Pierrefonds Open 10 K. The weather was great for running. The race was hard work and very competitive. Most of the people looked very serious and into running. I started very fast and beat my 1 K record (3:47.83 vs 3:51 that I ran in Old Port) and went to also beat my 5 K record (21:57.32 vs 22:02 in Banque Scotia Half). However, I failed to beat my 10 K record of 45:29 that I had achieved in Banque Scotia Half. The track seemed very hard and most of it was a lot of hard work. The legs, back, breath and everything else worked fine and nothing caused any problem. Overall I am very pleased with the result. Here are the stats from SportStats:
Place: 61/177
Bib #: 13
Time: 46:15.1
Pace: 4:38
Category Place: 15/32
Gender Place: 53/126
After the 10 K, since Jay was running the 5 K alone, Soheila and I decided to join him and give the 5 K a try as well. The 5 K started at 10:40 AM which was an hour and a half after the 10 K's start, so we had enough time to recuperate. I failed to beat my own 5 K record this time and nothing special happened. It was a fine 5 K run. Here are the results from SportStats:
Place: 48/240
Bib #: 702
Time: 22:42.1
Pace: 4:33
Category Place: 10/25
Gender Place: 41/129
