COMMENTS: RACE!!

Great race. Ran it from the RFYL store in Dilworth up across Eulicid and down East Blvd. Weather was almost perfect. Had a plan and stuck to it. Took it easy up the hills on the first mile. First mile was 9:17. Breathing was 4/2. Feeling good at the turn on to East Blvd. Rested as much as I could going downhill on East getting ready for the uphill on Worthington. Breathing still mostly 4/2. Passed on the water near the 2 mile mark. Turned onto Worthington and just kept a steady pace up the hill which seemed to take forever. Breathing picked up to 3/2 but feeling good. The left turn onto Lyndhurst was my mark to start picking up the pace for the downhill finish. On Lyndhurst was one hill and my breathing went to 2/2. Final left turn onto McDonald and started to push. Passed under the clock at about 36:31 (guntime) and forgot to stop my watch!! so I estimated it took me about 5 secs to get to the chip mat on the start. We'll see when they post the results. Forgot to set my watch to the manual zone (165-200) so it regestered the usual zone 5.

Projected 36:46 at a 9:11 pace based on my 5k 2 weeks ago.

Just posted results and updated my entry. I thought I had finished in about 36:30 and was actually 35:22. I actually broke a 9 min pace for 4 miles!!
