COMMENTS: RACE!!

Not as cool as I had hoped. Had a good start. Started and stopped my watch this time so I have a good idea what my chip time will be. The first half was mostly downhill and the second up so i tried to conserve my energy for the second half. At 1 1/2 miles we made the turn and I was feeling good. Noticed it was a lot hotter than I had hoped and at the 2 mile mark my time was 18 mins which worred me a little. My time for the first mile should have been 8:30-8:45 and the second about 9-9:10 which should have put me at the 2 mile mark at 17:30-17:55. Another mile is too far to run hard so I waited a little longer and next thing I know there is the finish line so I sprinted to the finish which is not good runnng etiquette. My "Elapsed time" is what my watch said. I'll find out the results Mon. Looks like I need to plan my final push better next time. I'm happy with my time, but I think I could have done better. Based on my 4 mile race my 5k time should have been 27:27. I have a new Max HR- 181 bpm.
