I ran my staple threshold workout of 8 x 1000m w/ rec = 50 sec this evening - perhaps for the last time before the marathon - and I'm really pleased with how it went. I split 3:16 for the first five, 3:15 for the next two and 3:09 for the final rep. The first one had to get the legs going a little, but after that I was really surprised at how the soreness and tightness I've been feeling all week just vanished. (Hopefully this doesn't bring it back with a vengeance...) It's been rare that I've hit such even splits doing this workout, and these are among the fastest I've ever gotten. I felt strong all the way through, almost certain that I could have done at least one more.

Followed the workout with four strides on the track, which actually felt really fast. I'm not sure where the right markings were on the track, but the two splits I took seemed to be about 12 seconds each...
