1:12:11 (Chip time 1:12:10.53, Gun Time 1:12:11.43). Felt quite good from the get go. Out with a huge pack that lost the top 5 about half a mile in. Sensed the rest of us were going slowing down a bit after a first mile that was right where I wanted it so I got some seperation with another dude right around the mile. He stayed with me until maybe mile 5 and wee were joined by Liam hartsuff some time around 5 as well. Liam died hard right after delhi, but I stayed strong and brought it home solo. Really just tried to stay on the gas until Delhi and not exert too much effort, but it started to hurt after the delhi hill and I just suffered the rest of the way. Quite painful, but the splits got faster even as I hurt more so I'll take it. Thought I might have a shot of catching Zach at the end, but he was much too far ahead. Really happy with this especially for being my first race since covid and how my training has gone the last year. Probably my best PR and I don't even feel super fit. Maybe I'm suited to the longer stuff, who would have thought.
