Notes
Ran from the house. Pretty hill route, fresh snow on the ground. Beautiful morning for a solo run which I really needed. The snow has made me feel really slow and I was planning this taking 3:45. I headed out and it was dead silent and beautiful! I saw all sorts of animal tracks and even saw a mink! I stayed on mostly dirt roads and the ascents were a bit slippery but not too bad! I had to pee about 5 times. I ate one date, one gel, 1 perpetuem solid and 8 oz of HEED (two scoops) plus about a liter of water. It was a very comfortable run and I just did a lot of thinking about everything and as usual on the long runs solved all of lifes problems! When I got back to the house I almost squealed with joy! I know not impressive for most but 20 miles with 1800 feet of gain and 1800 of descent never felt like an easy 3 hour run! It really gave me hope for the season. I was at a comfy pace where I was able to sing and talk to myself the whole time or just enjoy the silence but I never felt winded and my legs never felt tire. Seriously, made my day. Now if only this snow would melt so I can run on dirt again! :) Had my recovery shake right after the run too.
