GPS said 13.22. Not bad for a half!
Festus and Brian were going to be my main rivals. Festus didn't know I was hurt, so I decided to try and bluff my fitness and hope he let me go. We hung together for the first two before I started breaking away a little bit. I was hurting by 4 and was really struggling by 8 but I was able to increase the gap. My legs wouldn't go and I could tell I was crawling Man, I'm out of shape!
No achilles pain but my arch on that foot was really hurting the last few miles.
I'll probably get an iron test on Monday to make sure my levels have risen since my training will start to pick up.
Official results say 69:53 for my chip time. Who knows? The TTU mascot decided to chest bump me about 10m before the finish line and about knocked me down, so that costs at least 2-3s as well.
