Notes

Weather started out just over 70 and worked to 75 with a 70 dewpoint.

Made up a new route to explore and it was enjoyable but tough. The new part was long, rolling climbs with open fields and no cars. It finished by St. Blaise, where I dropped a bottle for a short break and finished up.

I thought I would run low 6s the last few miles but I couldn't run under 6:20s so I just ran the same effort. Tough headwind on Gallatin and ran into a downpour with a few miles left.

Feet also started hurting the last few miles, which happens sometimes when my muscles aren't quite yet to the long miles.

I would have liked to run under 6:30 pace but the route was rougher than last week. The elevation data said it was 6 ft. less per mile of elevation change but I feel that's impossible since there were several hills that stole my mojo and lots of downhill running, with last week only having a couple memorable hills. I guess it shows hill placement is more indicative of difficulty than the total amount of hills.

I think this is also a really good fast finish course if I run CIM. My legs were already worn out from the pounding by the time I hit St. Blaise, which is my preferred road for fast finish runs.
