Notes

Dew point of 72. GPS measured 4.09 miles.

Rough plan was a progression run, starting at 5:15ish and working down to sub 5:00 by the last mile. Got out nice and comfortable but sped up too much the second mile. Got lazy the last two miles and ran steady, but not focused at all.

Super humid and this effort was a little harder than I would have liked. The course has certification but I've run the first mile of the course tons of times and know the first mile is long, despite it having the road spike at the start and first mile. I've tried to do mile repeats on the first mile before, as well as some of my cross country kids and every time, times seem 10-15 seconds slow. Maybe the entire course is accurate but then again, if the first mile is long, who knows. Maybe when they certified the course, the marked it on the inside lane of the one-way road, instead of the second lane, which the course guides us. Not to mention, there are cones that push you way outside the parking lot on one section, so maybe the course was marked on the inside there. That seems like it would make the difference, but who knows. There's a long rant but every time I run this course, I ran much slower than anticipated.
