Ran from the pool house by the golf course to Madison Creek. My plan was to run around 5:20 first mile and work down to sub 5:15 pace over the next 5 miles to average 5:15ish. On then way out, I had a headwind, which I knew would add a couple of seconds. Aerobically, it wasn't bad, but my legs had no power at all and I felt really off so I bagged it and averaging around 5:25 for 1.6 miles.
It's frustrating because I want 5:25 to be my marathon pace in a couple more weeks and today it was pretty tough. After I ran the final 4.5ish miles really slowly, my legs felt like cinder blocks again. Frustrating workout.
