Was dreading this workout and it was another long day. Went to Nashville after school to see if my iron has gone up/tanked anymore, then got home, took a short power nap, ate dinner and then was out the door for the warm-up, which felt like crap.
The goal was a 6400m tempo at 5:05ish.
1st one=Went out a little quick and then settled in. Told myself to at least get through one before thinking any negative thoughts.
2nd and 3rd=both felt good. Came through both of these in 74/2:29/3:46ish. The pace felt really relaxed on my legs and I was locked into the rhythm.
4th=Legs started getting a little bit tired and I started getting a side stitch. Was locked into that 5:00ish pace again and ran the last lap in 72, without any purposeful pick-up.
I was going to do 2x400m around 62 or faster with 400m jog but the side stitch was getting bad and if I raced Saturday, I wanted to save my legs a bit. But of course, eating a couple cookies, a ton of chips and a foot long Chicken Bacon Ranch sub right before the run probably didn't help. Anyway, encouraging session. Hopefully my iron numbers don't suck when I get them in tomorrow morning.
