Goal was 4800m (15:30), 4000m (12:42), 3200m (10:00). Decided to round this up to miles because there were benches on both of the straightaways and some sports team jumping rump on the track, as well as running around the track with kettleballs. I figured all of the weaving added 9.3m per 1600m.

Felt like booty on the first interval. My legs had no turnover and I just couldn't get moving. I almost ended it at 1.5 miles, but decided to finish up. Ended up with splits of 5:12, 5:10, 5:08.

I thought there was no way I would be able to run any faster than 5:10 pace on the the next section, so I was surprised when I came through in 5:01 and 5:03. This one felt easier than the first.

The last one also felt pretty smooth, going through the mile in 4:58.

I was happy I was able to hit my times, when I was expecting this to be a garbage workout. I think the first interval was so tough because of the miles I've been doing and it takes longer to loosen up and get going. I just have to learn to be patient and keep on pushing when things aren't going my way. It's too easy to give up when things feel out of your control but by being stubborn, you can usually persevere.
