Terrible race. I should have run 65:30 or under if I gave an all-out effort but it still wouldn't have changed my position.
First mile had a lot of downhills. Ran with Jeffrey, about 10 seconds behind Braun, Barnicale, some Ethiopian and the Irish guy. Jeff left me a little over 1.5 miles in. Confused with the splits because I thought I was running around 4:50 pace, instead of just under 5:00.
After about five miles, I knew it was going to be ugly. Once I saw I was over 65:30 pace, I stopped caring, was embarrassed and just wanted to be done. Bad day.
