Notes
Weather right at 70. With 4x1 mile with 2:00 rest (original plan), starting a little under 10k pace and working a little faster than 5k pace seemed the most logical. Start and finish was .25 miles away and I like to shuffle on my jogs, so rest was about 2;45.
GPS would always beep a little early and a manual tracing of the course came out to 1.01-1.02, so I'll take my fast splits! The watch beeped later on the last two, but since Christian wasn't there, I tried to run better tangents.
1st mile= eased into it and had a big negative split...felt easy and Christian was right with me.
2nd mile= still felt pretty easy and started a little faster than the first, with Christian a couple seconds back.
3rd mile= I think Christian went to the bathroom on this one (or maybe it was the last). Pushed a little bit the second half but still felt good.
4th= got started pretty quickly and I was at 4:30 pace with a 1/4 mile to go, so I pushed the last straightaway some. Happy the GPS split was 4:25 and if I went completely all out, I feel like I could have run 4:17-4:18.
I haven't done repeat miles in a long, long time and was expecting to run 5:00ish-4:45ish, so I'm pleased with this one. Hopefully I'm in 14:30 shape or so right now.
