GPS said 9.47

Goal was to sneak under the State Record of 46:44. My plan was to run 5:00ish pace and I kept the current lap time and total time screens on my GPS. I forgot to turn off my autolap, so the watch would beep a little bit early each mile and I'd hit the lap button again at the sign and added the difference. After three times of this, I was annoyed with it and would just look at total time since 5:00 pace is easy math.

Legs were moving quickly but it felt ok. It started getting pretty hot at 6-7 miles and at eight miles, I had almost a thirsty second time cushion, so I relaxed some. I ran a 5:05 GPS mile for the last mile, which is probably closer to 5:10 in real life. There were some gradual climbs there and I backed off a little bit.

Good confidence booster because the weather was probably about 30s slower than ideal temps and the effort was good. I felt like I could run close to 65:30 flat-out in these conditions, at the tail end of a tough training week, which is a good confidence booster.
