Notes

I actually thought this was going to be a bombed workout. I spent about 45 minutes trying to fix my computer after my warm-up, which wasn't ideal. Before the workout, I did 2x200m and timed the second one in 35, despite it feeling really fast. The plan was 6x1600m with 400m jog rest. Ideally, I'd run these about 4:46-4:47, but would have been ok with opening up just under 5:00 and working my way down.

First one was 4:47, which felt a little tough. Second one felt easier in 4:44. I expected the third to hurt but I ran 4:43 and felt controlled. Next one was in 4:42 and I decided to break 4:40 on my last two and hit 4:38 and 4:39. Honestly, this workout was pretty easy and I never had to force myself to run the pace and they all felt nearly the same effort wise. I debated doing eight of them but figured six was plenty, especially with my knee (which didn't feel too bad). The only thing I struggled with was my stomach. A few hours before this, I ate several rolls, a 12 oz. sirloin, some soup and some spaghetti at Demos' and my stomach really hurt the whole time and I thought I was going to throw up at any given moment. That seemed to hold me back some and took away a lot of my mental focus. There was also some wind from the 100m-300m mark, which made things more difficult.

This is a really motivating session because it felt like I was just striding and was locked into the pace, rather than making myself hit it. Obviously this is a more intense workout than I had planned for this morning, so I'll make some slight adjustments to my training to make it all balance out.

This was almost identical to Cabadas 6x1600 times.
